What Soul Seal stores about you, and why.
What we store
- Your email address: it is your login name. It is stored in lower case and never shown to other players.
- Your display name: shown on the forum and to other players.
- Your password, hashed: we store only an Argon2id hash. Nobody, including the team, can read your password.
- IP addresses, for security: the address of your last login and of login attempts, to stop password guessing and to enforce bans.
- Your characters and their saves, on the realm where you play them.
- Forum posts you write.
- Soul Gold, orders and donations: your balance history, what you bought, and for each PayPal donation the transaction id, amount, status and the payer email PayPal sends us. We never receive your card or PayPal login.
Cookies
The website sets one cookie, soulseal, which keeps you logged in and protects forms against forgery. It is not used for tracking or advertising, and there are no third-party cookies or trackers on this site.
Who sees it
Only the Soul Seal team. We don't sell or share your data. PayPal handles donations under its own privacy policy.
Your choices
You can change your password under My Account. To have your account deleted, ask the team on the forum.
